Our Doctors


Dr. Wayne N. Juhnke

Dr. Wayne Juhnke (Dr. J) was born and raised in Cleveland, OH where he worked for 10 years as a veterinary technician. He obtained his B.S. in biology at Cleveland State University and is a 1986 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. 

Dr. Juhnke is a founding partner of River Forest Animal Hospital and resides in Oak Park with his wife, Alice Ireland, and his two rescued French bulldogs, Elmer and Edith Piaf. His daughter, Hesper, recently became a licensed expressive arts therapist and is living abroad with her new husband while he completes a graduate program at the University of Dundee in Scotland.

Dr. J likes to spend his free time cooking, traveling, listening to live music, reading and playing tennis. In keeping with his interest in canine obedience and behavior, he is currently training Elmer as a ball boy on the court and is also helping Edie to perfect her béarnaise sauce in the kitchen.  



Dr. Adam G. Thomas

Dr. Adam Thomas is an "army brat" who was born in Germany but grew up in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. He earned both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees from the University of Minnesota. 

Dr. Thomas lives in Chicago (Galewood) with his two wily cats, Richie Cunnigham and Blackie Chan, and his dog Squeaks, a Belgian Malinois. He has a young son, Lucas, whom he enjoys spending time with. 

His professional interests include abdominal ultrasound and surgery. 

Dr. Thomas' favorite activities include watching football, playing trivia, traveling, riding his motorcycle and playing video games. 




Dr. Caroline M. Menghini

Dr. Caroline Menghini (Dr. M) was born and raised abroad as an expatriate in Dubai, UAE  and moved to the United States to attend college at Oklahoma State University where she received a B.S. in biochemistry. She is a graduate of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. M enjoys working with cats and would like to pursue a special certification in feline medicine.

She and her husband, Jean-Benoit, live in Forest Park with their Norwegian Forest Cat, Marius. Her personal interests include international travel, cooking, learning French, reading, swimming and amateur photography.  




Dr. Kathy H. Park

Dr. Kathy Park grew up in Colorado. She completed her undergraduate schooling at New York University and earned her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine.

Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging and dermatology.

In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, camping, and traveling.
